Prefer it made with lamb, much nicer flavour and my favorite marrow fat peas. Do not usually have those until we go back to the UK. To mean to pay the import prices on them. You be amazed who does though |

You be amazed who does though A shepherds pie can only be made with lamb. The other ingredients pops mentioned were what he prefers to add. I always add onion, garlic, carrots, peas and sweetcorn. Then topped of course with mashed and creamed spuds. If a similar pie is made with beef, it becomes a cottage pie. ----------------------------------------- Gustav Mahler is the finest composer who ever lived. |

The carrot & parsnip (one of each) were there just to give some additional flavour (I did omit to mention I added a chopped onion) and to stretch out the lamb so there was enough to make two pies - the second one we're having today but with baked beans. |

| Chicken salad for lunch
Pork with peppers, mushrooms or any root vegetable we can find to wok. Normally get rid of any in the fridge to buy fresh tommorow. Bung it all in :;smile: |

Popps looked at the recipe book for actifry. Absolutely amazed. Will wait now until we move to mainland at the end of the year. Thanks so much :;smile: |

| Goldie, a really good thing about the Actifry is that it's very easy to clean. The bowl is ceramic lined (not Teflon) so is very sturdy and most residues just wipe away.
I sound like an advert here but, it is truly what I feel about the device - and I'm not being paid by Tefal! |

| It's nice popps to get feedback. So many times I have been disappointed as I brought on a whim.
That is why I put on the back burner. Will definitely get one though.
Bit limited for space at the minute.
You will be the first to know once I get one. :;smile: |

| I whole heartedly agree with -pops-, it's a great piece of kit. We are already on our second (or is it the third? )... Another plus is that you don't have that awful residual oily odour after the cooking is done. ----------------------------------------- ..

| Picked up a reduced price Tesco Beef Lasagne this am. Don't usually indulge in ready meals but at £1.90 (large size) it was too good to miss although I might regret it later in the evening. |

Another plus is that you don't have that awful residual oily odour after the cooking is done. Thanks Irene. We had fish and chips the other day from what we thought was a fairly good chip shop. My husband wanted a treat. We have both been trying to stick to healthier options since his heart attack and stent. By the time he got the paper bag back to the bag was soaked in grease. We never really enjoyed it as you could taste was the grease. I thought the actifry would at least give us option for a healthier treat. I did not realise there was so much more could prepare with it :;smile: |

| I have been slow cooking a ham hock all day and will use some of the delicious meat tomorrow and freeze some to use in a ham and veg terrine later. |
