PostSubject: sudden problem accessing F drive    sudden problem accessing F drive EmptyTue Dec 20, 2016 8:15 am

I insert dvd's into pc which appear as F drive - normally quite accessible - what I now get is a Drive Tools/Manage top heading on my files doc with drop downs of either eject/finish burning or erase this disc and I am unable to open the disc at all - it's a pig of a job!!

any help appreciated - excuse puns!

I've seen this message come up in the past and it has been the death announcement of the drive. As they are so low cost, it isn't worth trying to repair them.

Do you have access to another DVD burner?

Try a head cleaner Davo. It could be a dirty lens.

thanks G tried that but the bloody laptop won't accept cleaner discs - I think as the pc is old it's just effed up - next choice may be an external disc drive
