| I once lived in a small english village and as teens we would go carolling as reps from our church and doing it for free - we often got offered hot drinks [appreciated] and sometimes even gifts but then it was a season of joy and giving and love but it still was bloody cold!! |

I've never heard the name either... so I googled it.
Gerrit is a Dutch male name meaning "brave with the spear", the Dutch and Frisian form of Gerard. |
