Good Morning + what are you up to today and how is your weather

Good morning - cloudy and dull again today... might brighten up later

Good morning - Dull but dry at the moment. Going to the allotment for a couple of hours soon. I'm booked in for a haircut with Mrs mart after lunch. More tidying up of the garden later. Got a big family occasion coming up next Monday and I want the place to look its best.

Reasonably Sunny with patchy cloud 21°C.

Cloudy but dry here. Just returned from visiting a garden centre with Libby and and returned with a lot of cheap plants. In fact the geraniums were free.
I don't know whether the place is shutting down but there were amazing reductions on stuff. Pity we don't have a bigger garden or Libby would have bought even more

Good morning. Dry and bright this morning but cloud cover forecast for all day with no rain. My least favourite activity today - out with Libby shopping to local Aldi and Morrisons,

Good morning - A bright start and I've just hung the washing on the line. Car M.O.T. later. It hasn't done many miles since the last one, so it ought to be OK.

Good morning - The Sun is shining. I'll be doing some house cleaning today. The car passed its M.O.T. test.

Up early at 5.30 gardening, doing odd jobs, cooking, cleaning etc.
Now sitting and contemplating my next tasks !

Good morning - A bright and partly sunny day in prospect today

I was told by my consultant that she would like me to have a routine blood test and I have ventured to Lister Hospital in Stevenage. In contrast to the title of my post, I actually went there by taxi because buses are not too reliable at present due to roadworks.

I decided to use the bus to get back to Hitchin, as there are about 4 an hour during the day. The hospital has it's own minor bus station with various buses using it, both town service and country routes, so you have to find the right stop, which I did easily enough. There was one man in the shelter standing at the end where you board the bus so I sat mid way along the shelter to maintain social distancing. After about 5 minutes the bus that I needed pulled in so I struggled to my feet and approached the door, at this point the man standing at that end was joined by a woman, bit of a cheek I thought but never mind! Two or three people got off the bus and this man and woman stood looking at the driver and I assumed there were more people making their way down the bus to get off, but I'm damned if he didn't close the door and drive off!

On reaching Hitchin I decided to call into a small pub on The Market Square which has been a centre of activity for many years but is a sad place now. It is the only remaining traditional pub in the town centre, Wetherspoons has beaten them into submission. There are lots of overpriced coffee shops and wine bars which don't appeal to me. I obviously have not been into town centre for some time and I thought that I might catch up with some news about old friends but it was not to be.

I decided to get a taxi back to what is still my local pub but even that is changing, the music is getting louder and more inane every day.

I finished off the day with fish and chips which cost me almost as much as my first months wages!

.........  Now that's more like it. I'm the same ... you just can't beat a bag of chips, and in my case Steak & kidney pud, for a nostalgic treat.
The bus driver at the station doesn't surprise me Purwell. The days are gone when the drivers actually used to look and check if anyone one wanted to get on.

I haven't done a great deal today ... I lazed around and indulged in a little painting.

Anyone got any special plans for the Bank Holiday?
