I haven't done a great deal today ... I lazed around and indulged in a little painting.

Anyone got any special plans for the Bank Holiday?

I'm not sure the driver even knew I was there. It was the dopey pair that stood in between me and the door that caused the problem.

Bank Holidays are usually no different to other days but it's Mrs mart's 70th Birthday this weekend, so I expect we'll be getting a few visitors. I know she won't mind me mentioning her age because she's glad to have reached it.

Sorry you had a bad day Purwell. I can only suggest you try the pub part again but maybe at a quieter more local one.

We spent most of the day at one of Libby's grand daughter's 18th birthday party.  It was nice to meet family you have not been able to see for the best part of 2 covid years. The car's sat nav warned me of serious hold-ups on the M42 and M5 (Bank Holiday!) so we went cross country which made us about 45 minutes late - and I hate being late for anything. Libby had made her a splendid birthday cake which she was looking forward to.

It was held in their garden - the sun got to me and I finished up with a headache. It's sad when you prefer it cloudy isn't it.

Good idea, there is one not too far away but it will be a taxi both ways.

Good morning folk - been up since 4:15 am and have filled my time downloading and installing updated maps for my reserve Garmin sat nav.  I keep it in the car in case the KIA one ever gets grumpy.  I know that instead I could use Google maps on my phone linked to the car's display- but don't like the interface.

Not much on today - going to Libby's sister's house to install a plywood panel under her sofa seat cushions to make the seating more firm to replicate what I have already done to our sofa.  Libby has arthritis problems with her knees and was finding it difficult to get up off the sofa - she was sinking into the cushions. She got a quote for firmer foam inserts - but I baulked at the price of £240 quoted.  I have some plywood left over from when I built my shed and tried that - Libby was delighted and then inveigled me into doing the same for her sister.

Good afternoon - Bright and warm today. Some dusting and cleaning done. The garden is looking tidy in readiness for the family visiting. Hopefully, the weather will be good enough for us to sit outside. Everyone has been Covid tested, so we hope a bit more togetherness will be OK.

Good morning folk. We too are destined to have a cloudy day plus the possibility of some light drizzle at times. We have friends coming round tomorrow and Libby needs some ingredients for the menu so we are going shopping to Waitrose and Aldi in Solihull town centre where both stores are only 200 yards apart.

Good morning - It's dull and drizzly today. The party week-end is over. Our daughter is staying on for a while before going home.

The gathering was held in the garden. The weather was dry but a bit of sunshine would have been good. It was nice to see most of the family all together. Hugs were allowed because we'd all been tested for Covid-19. We got a lot of testing kits (free from the Chemist). All of us did it.
