Good morning - sunny here but clouds on horizon with showers forecast. According to the midlands ITV forecast last evening the weather is due to worsen from Thursday with lots of rain for a few days well into next week. Saves us watering the garden.

Good morning - The Sun is shining and the allotment calls. My friend will be bringing me one of her home made Moussakas. Made with Aubergines grown in the allotment greenhouse. A rich reward for my labours.

I could be wrong but I believe our revered weathermen have predicted .... a very hot spell around mid-August?
I don't believe it meself. The weather's gone right off.

Good morning - No Sun and not that warm (at the moment) but it should stay dry all day. Allotment this morning and a walk this afternoon.

Cloudy today with dark clouds getting ready to rain on us tomorrow.

Home alone today - wife out shopping with her sister in Stratford Upon Avon.

I'm fed up with damned wood pigeons crapping great turds on the lawn and will be setting up an infra red sensor connected to a solenoid valve controlling a mains water jet to see if it deters them.  

I rescued an old sporting catapult from my junk in the garage a few weeks ago. Instead of using proper target shot, Libby "encouraged" me to use dried peas that would sting and not really hurt them. They are so used to it now - they ignore me. It's humiliating.

I expect after a week or two today's effort will be in vain and they will be queuing up in front of the nozzle for a free shower.

I used to have a .22 compressed CO2 air rifle (at a previous house which backed onto fields) to get rid of the vermin but Libby "encouraged" me to sell it. So I now have to find eco-friendly measures.

That's exactly what Libby said - she tamed me and I am now kind to birds - unless of course they are vermin.

Poor pigeons .... on a more cheery note the weather is fine, so far, and I went for a walk before getting stuck into some painting.

Our neighbour has a bird scaring pistol for frightening the pigeons away. The trouble is that, every time he uses it, I don't know if it's because of the birds or whether he's got tired of life and shot himself.

Good morning -Cloudy and cool again  today with threatening rain

Good morning early bird - it is pretending that we will be having a sunny day but the forecast for later today and the next 4 days is gloom, doom and lots of rain.

My anti pigeon gadget is working so far but the vermin are stubborn and I doubt it will last. The problem is the crap they deposit on the artificial lawn and our garden furniture.  Our respective great grand children can visit now and they love playing on the lawn. I'm fed up with having to keep cleaning it all the time.  I don't want to resort to replacing my rifle - but if I fail to find a kind way - I cannot see any alternative.
