5°C and light rain in North Herts.

I see that the uk has been having more extreme weather conditions. We trust that everyone is staying warm and safe?

Being lucky here in tbis part of Catalunya....Extremely sunny most days but with a chill in the air. Doors and windows open all day and working out in the garden until 4pm ish. When the sun wanes, the temps drop dramatically.

I have my booster jab tomorrow and vaccine passports are required in all hostelerias.....Bars/restaurants etc....Masks are mandatory apart from on the street when social distancing.....Or sat in bars and restaurants.....???

I can see by further revelations of incompetency, or perhaps arrogance by the government, the masses are revolting.....That is probably what the government thinks of them anyway!

The festive season is fast approaching, though the local town decorations have only just gone up....The tendency to celebrate amongst the more mature population waits until around the 20th of the month and stretches through to the 6th January, which is the day presents are traditionally exchanged.

Mrs Beastie and I will put our festive tree and accompanying decorations on the 21st.

Continual glorious sunny days here still and the forecast is for more until after the festive week. We are enjoying daily sunsets of such beauty.

It is already the 13th and there are very few decorations about, which is par for the course over here. This coming week will see a lot more about and in the last few days the towns and villages have put up their yearly displays.

Our own contribution of tree and decorations will up on the 21st until the day of the 6th.

Off to Welwyn Garden City for blood test this morning.

Throw a Christmas cracker on the window sill MM.....Make a token gesture......We are a little humbuggy here as well, or I am. Mrs Beastie has a large and extensive family, whereas I don't. Im sure it makes all the difference to ones attitude to Festive feelings!

I had my booster vaccine last week and all went well.

The weather is glorious sunny days and being outside all day with windows and doors open all the time bodes for a well being feeling. Consequently lots of jobs on house and garden being done.

After living in this house for seventeen years, we have slowly realised that as we are not getting any younger, perhaps the time to sell and find somewhere smaller is approaching.

We have had an agency up to look and value and will soon be putting the place on the market.

We have come to realise that the amount of work involved in the upkeep of the whole place will eventually become somewhat of a task as opposed to an enjoyment for both of us at some conjecture. Perhaps the time to change is nigh.......We shall see what occurs in the coming months.

I feel the same as you do about moving to somewhere smaller, but Mrs Mal has lived in this house since 1959 so there is no way she will move anywhere else.
