Good Morning + what are you up to today and how is your weather

After a couple of days of doom, gloom and rain today promises to be dry. Took Libby to Solihull hospital to have her knee X-Ray yesterday and was very impressed with how well the hospital is organised. We arrived at the Xray reception at 3:20 for her 3:30 appointment, she was called in within a couple of minutes and we were back in the car just after 3:30. I didn't have to pay for car parking because they allow 20 minutes free of charge. 

Covid has been a good thing in this respect - if this is typical, hospitals have become better organised, car parking is no longer a problem and patients can only be accompanied by a helper by prior arrangement. We have a large asian population in the Midlands and previously a patient in out-patients would be accompanied by a crowd of friends and family and waiting rooms resembled a rugby scrum.  It's no longer the case - I hope it lasts.

I had arranged to meet my friend at the pub at lunchtime but then was reminded that that Mrs mart has to see the dermatologist at 12.15 p.m. She has another suspected patch of Bowen's disease. On her face this time. Fairly minor but can get worse if not treated. No pub for me then.

Mrs Mal has this condition too Mart on her legs, she uses 'Efudix' 5-fluorouracil cream and it usually works fine after repeated application for a few weeks.

That's the same cream Mrs Mart used when she had an affected area on her leg. It looks horrible while it's working doesn't it? ..but cures the problem. I used it for a similar looking sore on my hand that had been there for ages and never got better. It cleared that up too.

The affected area on Mrs mart's face was small and this time it was frozen rather than using the cream.

It's so good that these pre-cancerous areas are so easily and readily treatable Mart....like you I had one it was on my neck and the cream shifted it easily in about three weeks.

All caused by our times in the Sun I suppose.

FIne day today - at doctors at 8:30 this morning for a B12 injection to recharge ny battery. I need it - now I am a house husband doing all the chores while Libby is forced to rest her knee.

My OKI colour laser printer failed just before we went on holiday leaving me with just an Epson inkjet printer/scanner. I only use it for scanning hence the inks had dried out. I spent a couple of hours trying to get it printing but even with new inks the yellow and magenta colours refused to print properly. 

I browsed the internet for the parts needed to get the laser printer working - which is 9 years old and now obsolete to find that the spares are as rare as hens teeth and those stockists who had them were charging the silly amount of £232. 

So I ordered a new 2020 Kyocera colour laser printer/scanner which cost £244 and will be taking the 2 old printers to the tip.

The new printer arrived yasterday and I had to get a son in law round to help me get it upstairs to my study. It weighs 60 lbs. It was the easiest printer network install I have ever carried out - Windows 10 certainly makes it easy.

Today I will be finalising and printing off 65 copies of a 4 page a Newsletter I produce monthly for my club who meet the cost.  Not a job for an injet - hence the laser.

Good morning - I've been to the allotment and done some strimming, digging and manure spreading. A ride to pick up the prescription items this afternoon. The rest of the day is my own.
