Good morning - It's overcast here but expected to brighten up later.

Going to the car boot sale that's held each Thursday in the grounds of the Community Centre. A short walk from where we live. Mrs mart wants some jewellery bangles that she can use for making beadwork items. Can often find that sort of thing at car boot sales.

Good morning - Off to the allotment shortly for a couple of hours. A ride over to see my brother this afternoon. Friends are coming here this evening for a curry. A sociable sort of day ahead all in all.

Good morning. Back home after a most enjoyable, splendiforous and memorable couple of days staying at the truly awesome Hawkstone Park Hotel near Shrewsbury. It cost £405 (plus £60 for  booze) total for dinner bed and breakfast in fine dining 5 star luxury.

It is a stately home set in 80 landscaped acres with its own adjacent 160 acre golf course. The house is connected by a short corridor to its large chapel where they hold civil wedding ceremonies. The house had laid dormant for 11 years and was completely refurbished in 2018 to a better standard than many National Trust places we have visited. They were hit by covid 3 months after opening in 2019 and have spent the past 12 months enhancing the place and gardens even more.

After October they are closing it as a hotel and concentrating on weddings because they have an order book of over 200 weddings during the next 18 months and more orders flowing in as it becomes more well known. They plan on doing a wedding every other day with all 37 bedrooms and suites booked in advance. Some of the weddings need even more accommodation which they can cater for in their other hotel on the golf course. 

On Thursday we visited the Nat.Trust Powis Castle which was another splendid experience. The large grounds are magnificent but we were not able to see all the gardens because they are set on terraces down the side of a steep hill I guess about 150 feet tall accessed by a series of stairs. Libby has arthritis in her knees and finds stairs of that scale difficult.

On the way home yesterday we called in to see some old friends in Kidderminster we have been unable to visit for 18 months due to covid and had a lovely time catching up on family gossip.

Good morning - Bright and dry here at the moment. Glad to read you had a couple of good days Alan. Our going for a walk to the Co-op, walking around the woods and a bike ride or two doesn't compare to that.

As regards meeting friends, we have started doing that again. With a couple of our friends, a tradition over the last 20 or so years has been to order in a takeaway curry, all sit around the table set the meal out and eat it restaurant style. All that had to end with lockdowns but began it again last night.

Our first real meet-up with friends for ages. It was nice to get back to what was normal months ago.

Good morning - Dull with light drizzle here. Expected to be mostly dry though. I don't know what the day will bring. We'll have to see.
