| Good morning - No rain forecast until later this afternoon, so I'll be going on a U3A walk this morning. Not much happening after that. I worry about leaving the house for a few hours but Mrs mart encourages me to go. Maybe she has a man come in. :)
Have a good day. |

| Good morning - rain rain rain again here in sodden Lancashire. I saw my consultant yesterday and we discussed my CT scan and both agreed that things were best left alone, therefore he discharged me from any further treatment ! |

| Good morning - The weather is OK so a trip to the allotment soon. A mop chop (haircut) later. A trip to pick up the prescriptions at some time too.
Good news Malcolm. One advantage of getting these lumps and bumps when older can be that they grow a lot more slowly than in a younger person. The oncology nurse tells me that there is some debate on whether slow growing lumps in older people are best operated on or left alone. Left alone has definitely been right in my case.
Have a good day. :) |

| Glad to hear that whatever medical conditions members are having are monitored by professionals and best advice taken.
A couple of weeks ago I went for my first ever blood analysis, first ever!!!
In the last couple of years, I have suffered from discomfort around the cervicales and joints in arms and hands, so some sort of arthritis was suspected.
Got the results this week and apart from cholesterol is a little too high and a slightly enlarged liver, I am reasonably OK.
The aches and pains in the joints are down to displaced vertebrae from sports many years ago and the rest just getting older.
Remedy.....A few less G&T's and Whiskeys and more greens....
Mrs Beastie has returned from a couple of weeks away in France and the south of the UK. The weather was bright but chilly all the time. Here, apart from today, it has been 28-32 degrees most days.
I am off to put up 4 bird boxes in the garden Mrs Beastie brought back from the UK.
You lot are having a Xmas election I read....Don't bother too much about it, here in Spain, this Sunday will be the fourth general election in four years.....!!!!!!!! |

| Glad that you are reasonably OK Beastie. You will, of course, receive the best treatment in Spain, less people, less waiting and more small clinics. Our NHS is struggling, too many people, not enough hospitals and medical professionals. Waiting time for a regular doctor's appointment is one or two weeks !!! Well at least the weather is being kind today....no rain, some sun but very cold |

| Good late afternoon - It's been cold today with a frost this morning.
It hasn't been a bad sort of day. I went to the allotment this morning and dug a runner bean trench. This afternoon was spent with my brother and now I'm back home again. Lights were needed on the bike to get home.
I hope everyone's day went according to plan like mine did. :)

We went to Southport yesterday for a Chinese lunch, lovely place Southport had a walk down the Pier it's a mile long so that was a good two mile stroll in the biting used to be one of my families favorite haunts - anyone in the shed of the year competition over there? - roaring fires consuming small communities out here in NSW and Queenslands - heard from ya mates Mal?? some are trying to defend their homes and getting the hair burnt off of the scalps and arms!! - horrifying - not enough water - firefighters or planes |

| Good morning - It's brighter out there today. We can't get out because of Mrs mart's illness but it's good to look out on some sunshine anyway. We got a surprise visit from our daughter yesterday. She lives in Spain now but came here because it was 75 years ago yesterday that my parents inflicted me on the World. We normally only take notice of 'decade' birthdays but it was nice that she went through the bother and expense to be here on my 75th. She goes back to Spain this evening. Have the best day possible. :) |

| Being as it is Remembrance Sunday....A couple of scribbling's from a few years ago dedicated to all granddads everywhere.
Granddad didn’t wear his poppy; On that day so long ago When he carried his gun, On the run, into the hated foe, For the symbol wasn’t there that day, He laid down his life, he was made to pay.. He had no say. So if I want to wear the blood, That millions of men spilt in the mud And show remorse and remembrance to The fallen and the chosen few Just wander through the fields of France And if but so you see by chance Glorious and standing tall, A fallen soul, who seems so small Just pick it up and wear with pride And remember those who lay down and died...
----------------------------------------------------------
My Granddad went to war one day, in some green fields far away, He came back after four long years, from where he wouldn’t say, He left a tall and and brave young man but returned a different soul, What that time it took from him, it didn’t leave him whole. When asked about his works and deeds, his answers they were none, He only whispered faintly, he was told to carry a gun, That’s all he said about his time in that far and foreign land, He’d look me straight in the eye, as he gently took my hand. He’d say..... When all is said and done and the battlefields are cold, When all the tales of heroism and bravery are told, When all the medals are handed out and citations given to The only ones who are ever left of the many and the few, The green fields of that foreign land are filled with souls of the dead, Fight for us, your country too, the leaders they had said. Tell that to my Granddad as he tries to go to sleep, Tell that to the millions that were slaughtered just like sheep, My Granddad goes to bed at nights and cries his heart away, This is what his debt is, it’s what he has to pay..... War it is necessary, or so the politicians say, I don’t believe a word of it, it’s time for them to pay, If not for me for Granddad, so he won’t have to weep,
For hours every time at night before he can get some sleep.
