Taking them to the tip would not have suited me.
You get to love them as one of the family.....
It was so distressing for me as to put Wilbur to sleep at home. I couldn't watch her do it . She gave him a relaxant first before the lethal I junction. Laid him out and just left him as though he was asleep.
We were advised to bury him in the morning. My new husband dug the hole and measured the size.
I was so anxious which way he lay as I wanted his head facing the mountain. He loved that garden.
We placed a great big volcanic rock over him and I planted flowers and and his favourite toys. The new owners of the house said they would maintain the plot for me.
He was 17 nearly 18 so was a much loved pet.
