TIME TRAVEL. Daily Mail 02/02/17
'ARF a tick,' we used to say,
Not knowing what it meant,
'Just a Jif was Just as bad,
Time was heaven sent.
When we were young, time just stood still,
School days would never end,
Hours and hours of homework,
Then off to bed we'd wend.
The clocks went so much slower then,
An hour seemed more like days,
Of course when holidays came around,
The time rushed in a haze.
It seems now we're in ‘later life',
That time flies by so fast,
Plan the day at breakfast time,
Then find the day has passed.
Sometimes we have an extra day,
It balances up some things,
Do we see it? No we don't,
It flies on silvery wings.
Time is such a mystery,
It's why we rush about,
There is no time to have a chat,
We pass by with a shout.
I no longer alter all the clocks, Twice in every year,
No sooner do you put them on,
Then put-back time is here.
So, here we are, the Old Year past,
Another's galloping on,
And before we even know It,
This one will soon be gone.
