| That's a very dramatic picture, Ciderman. Such bold colours and contrast. ----------------------------------------- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| I was an aircraft engineer at BAe for many years and visited Farnborough a few times for the airshow, I remember the area being very pleasant and green. |

| I was in my mid-twenties and it was me who used to keep the television in the Officers Mess going. This was when the RAF had a station at the RAE. The manager of the Mess once gave me two tickets that allowed admittance to the Officer's Enclosure to watch the Airshow.
My brother and I went in our smart suits and it poured down with rain all afternoon. My suit was only a cheap one and the blue dye came out of it and spread all over my white shirt. The cloud layer was so low that it wasn't worth any aircraft taking off. What should have been a good occasion therefore wasn't. It's an amusing memory though if nothing else. :)
The RAE is now a business airfield. The number of flights to and from it are ever increasing. I reckon it will likely be another Gatwick in twenty years or so. The greenery is still all around but I think you'd notice the difference in the volume of traffic and the size of the population in the area. |

| A nice place to live Goldie. I once went there a week before Christmas. It was sunny and warm. A bit of a shock to come home to the cold temperatures again. |

It's lovely but a bit restricting. Moving to mainland later in the year. Will winter in Lanzarote though. There is more culture in mainland I miss churches and museum. Not that I am religious, I love Spanish culture on the whole |

| All except the last one are lovely.
What ever had happened there? Was it simply someone dumping rubbish? ----------------------------------------- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| Yes Irene, fly-tipping is a problem around here that spoils the otherwise nice countryside. Not often huge amounts but when we go on one of our 'out of the way' cycling routes, dumped rubbish can sometimes be come across. Looking at the rubbish in that one, it looks partly to be the waste from re-tiling a kitchen or bathroom. |
