I bought a microscope lens camera as a new toy. The only trouble is that it needs lots of miniscule items to photograph. Here are some that I've thought of so far..

A dead wasp (front part of body).

A ballpoint pen.

Grains of sharp sand.

Tiny beads used to make the tree.

I don't want to leave much cash behind Malcolm.  yes The camera wasn't expensive. Have a search on Ebay for 'microscope camera'. Not a quality item but it does the job fairly well.

The main problem is getting it to start up. The supplied software is very hit and miss. I reckon I've found a way of making it work reliably if you decide to get one.

I'm amazed !
I thought you must have spend hundreds of pounds....on Ebay they are less than a tenner
I have seven cameras in the house, not counting phones, one in regular use and six others gathering dust as they become overtaken by technology !!

I've still got my Dad's 35mm camera, lenses and other equipment. It just sits in the loft. Other than that, I have an Olympus bridge camera that is mostly unused. The camera I mostly use is a compact Canon ..and now I have this USB microscope camera, which is a lot of fun.

Most of the ones on Ebay are 1000x magnification but for a few Pounds more, there is the 1600x magnification one that I have.

Here are a few more photos taken with it..

A size 12 needle and thread..

Looking at a white area on the computer monitor screen very closely shows what the display consists of. The screen only looks white because it's being viewed from a distance.
