Thanks Meerkat. :) I reckon what makes a difference is how the light is on the day. Most inexpensive cameras will take a good photo on a sunny day. Those photos were taken on a Spring day with sunshine and so look OK. It's only when the light is low or the day is murky that cheaper cameras aren't as good as the better quality ones. My camera wouldn't have taken such reasonable quality photos if the weather had been a bit grim on that day.
