I have spent about the last 60 years of my life honing my whinging skills to the peak of perfection. I assumed it was an attribute that would guarantee a free pass into Australia.

Are you now insinuating that I have wasted my time?

As someone else said, in recent times some of our indigenous folk have denigrated the whole thing, calling it "Invasion Day". 

In deference, I reckon the producers of this one have compromised pretty well.
The main actors right from the beginning are indigenous - and it then goes on to emphasize our fairly-successful multicultural history - without once mentioning the dreaded "Australia Day".

If one reads the comments after the clip (on Alan's link), there are a few 'whinging Poms' claiming that not enough emphasis was focused on our British heritage.

Not by me, mate. It is an adjective - not a proper noun, a name or a title.

I have enormous respect for our indigenous people - and over the years have spent much time as a volunteer in defence of aboriginal causes.

First I've heard of any demands to change English grammar or usage though.

One can use a big "I" or a little "i" with a biro, a pencil a keyboard - or a "thumbnail dipped in tar"

Poor old Davo seems obsessed with minutiae. I'll capitalize "indigenous" if he really insists.
It is of little consequence when there are far, far more serious issues which actually impact on their welll-being.

Also, he seems to have some strange, sarky attitude to those from the state of Queensland.
I reckon people are people - and I don't give a rat's which part of the continent they hail from.

Equally strange is the repeated references to a nut-job state-premier we had 30 years ago !?

y'aint doin it for me ya doin if for ya country - remember the famous JFK quote " think not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country!

It was claimed that JFK is reputed to have cribbed that phrase from his school head teacher

His speech actually included the phrases

" And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country".

and

"My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man".

I don't mind that it makes you look nuts - but it does your country a disservice if others think that normal Australians  converse in such a way.
