I bet that sounds good pops - but unfortunately I have severe hearing loss and am now unable - even with the best hearing aids available - to hear music properly in such a high register. I could hear the lower notes of the armonica but the high ones are almost silent.  My hearing is slowly deteriorating and I have possibly equalled, if not broken, the World record for the number of times I have said 'pardon' in one day. .

My hearing aids are programmed to help by changing the scale of very high notes to a much lower one. It works well with speech and normal sounds but distorts the quality of some music.

It's a bugger.

Oh Alan, that is so bad to learn. Something I really dread is losing my hearing. To lose it partially like you - the upper part of the aural spectrum - must be absolutely devastating.

I too am sorry to learn that, Alan.  I was aware that you had a hearing problem, but not as critical as that.

It has it's advantages - ask Libby (my wife) who reckons my hearing can be selective.....
