A Place to Call Home Empty
PostSubject: A Place to Call Home   A Place to Call Home EmptyWed Dec 28, 2016 4:43 pm

Has anyone been watching, 'A Place to Call Home'?  It is set in Australia, although I think has an Aussie and English Flavour.  I think it is really well cast and acted.

The first series ended before Christmas, with the second following in the New Year.
It is, I believe, a repeat from 2014 being screened on BBC2.

The era is set in 1953, when I was 7, so both the setting and costume are very familiar to me.

I love period drama presentations, including those which are maybe fiction, but based on fact.

I've not been watching it but it sounds exactly the sort of thing I'd enjoy. Just been and checked and it's on BBCiplayer so I can watch it from there! thumb

Hetty, I hope you can find a way of watching the first series.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Can't wait for it to begin again.  It would be a pity to come in at the half way stage.

Enjoy!  :;smile:

It's on BBCiplayer and so far I've watched the first three episodes of series 1. I'm well and truly hooked!  It's available on iplayer for another 8 days so I will definitely be able to watch all 13 episodes before the second series comes on in the new year.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention! Might get in a couple of episodes tonight. thumb

Splendid!

Apparently, it was screened in 2014, but I never clocked it.  I love the storyline.  Every episode makes me cry.  crying

I just don't want it to end!  Laughing

Enjoy your afternoon, Hetty.  :;smile:

We went to a family get-together yesterday (with my husband's cousins and families).  It was a lovely lunch, afternoon and evening.  It usually happens once a year around this time.  Great for a catch-up and a bit of reminiscing.
