After a fine start to the day, with sunny spells and just the odd shower, it will turn increasingly cloudy, with rain, sleet and hill snow pushing in from the west later this morning and afternoon.

Early rain, sleet and snow will clear to bright or sunny spells and showers, though these sometimes heavy and wintry along with hail and thunder, but tending to ease later. Windy and feeling cold.

| I'm off back to work Sunday lunchtime when I reopen my small business for the summer season......I shall be cooking lots of 'gambas' and 'Steaks' and spit roast chickens.....have a good summer! |

A cold start in places this morning, otherwise a day of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers possibly heavy at times around the middle of the day, before easing away by the second half of the afternoon.

Cloud and rain will slowly spread south-eastwards today. The rain will be heavy at times, particularly over Cumbria, accompanied by strengthening winds. It will feel cool in the wind and rain.
