Good morning - Yet another cloudy day in prospect again today.
How was your curry Mart...what did you have ?
I always have the same, Chicken Madras with Pilau Rice + Nan bread

Good morning. I too enjoy a nice curry - but we have never had a take-away. For some years I have been the curry chef - having learned some of the tricks from the live-in Indian houseboy we had for 13 years when I lived in the middle East. However - recently we have bought currries from M & S - their Butter Chicken being the favourite leaving me just having to cook the rice and naan.

I never enjoyed the naan you buy from stores and try to reheat at home - it's just never the same as cooked fresh in the tandoor in the restaurant. So I now make the naan dough in the breadmaker and cook it on a wire rack held over the flames from the kitchen gas hob. The result is as close as no-matter to the real thing.

Good morning - Warm sunshine is forecast for these parts but there isn't much sign of it yet. It's still gloomy.

The curry was good and there is enough left to have a hotchpotch of it for dinner tonight. I usually have the same each time (Lamb Madras) but noticed Lamb Rezala on the menu. I've had that a couple of times in the past, so ordered it for a change. Equally hot I'd say. Also had a Chicken Tikka starter, an Onion Bhaji a bit of Pershwari Nan. The portions delivered were a good size. I'll probably order from there again.

The weatherman lied !....we have a lovely warm sunny summer's day.
I too make my own curry, have done for years but it's never as good as an authentic takeaway Madras or a Naga which is a bit hotter.

Catalunya has had some severe flooding in the north of the region in the last week but we have missed practically all of it, just two thunderstorms with a few hours of heavy rain.
We have the designated area of natural beauty behind the town called 'Montseyn'. It is dominated by one of the highest peaks of the natural park and is the beginings of the foothills of the Pyrenees. It tends to disperse most heavy rain clouds and protects the local area from many major climate extremes.

I have spent the last month sourcing and trying to repair leaks in the pool but it has me beaten. I have called in the professionals and am going to have to spend a couple of thousand euros to dig up and replace existing underground tubing that has perished over the years.

Mrs Beastie has been helping a friend run a pool bar in her hotel in a local town. The summer is nigh on over tourism wise and the month of August has been a busy one with tourists, mainly domestic with a fair few from northern Europe.....With a clear and glaringly obvious lack of any British.

The covid affected numbers are rising but hospital admissions steady. A clear mandate of vaccinating 12-15 yr olds is in force before the return of the the school term next week.

The wearing of masks in all shops and businesses is compulsory but out on the street only if you cannot social distance. With the winter approaching, I can see nothing but the increase in infection and the return of some restrictions.
Until the attitude changes of having to live with the virus, this will continue.

Mrs Beastie has just made a beef madras and a chicken rogun josh from scratch. There is a family owned shop in Lloret that stocks an amazing array of Indian spices and such.I shall be there again tomorrow.

As much as the temperature has dropped in the last two weeks it is still 23/24 degrees most days with glorious sunshine.....

We are off to wet Wales today for 7 days - staying in a 3 bed holiday cottage a few miles from Welshpool.

Umbrella needed by the look of things. But nice to get away. One of Libby's daughters and hubby joining us tomorrow for 4 days. Great to have male company for a change.

Good morning - All is calm now that the last of the family gatherers have left. I actually don't like it much but I expect I'll soon get used to it again. Time to hang the sheets on the line and then get ready for a trip to the allotment.

It looks as if you should get a couple of sunny days Alan. Hopefully more.

Good morning - A day of warm sunshine ahead. We'll be taking advantage of it by going for a walk this afternoon (allotment for me this morning).

I sometimes think it would be nice to live in a hot and sunny climate ..but then I sit out in the Sun for half an hour and that's usually enough. The brighter light is a plus. Better than the gloomy days we've been having.

Good morning - The last day of hot sunshine according to the forecast. I'll need to go and water the plants in the allotment greenhouse (owner away). There is nothing to do after that. We might go for a walk later.
