oh dear that was a bit below the feather heh??

Just friendly banter with Mr Macron and his Agincourt survivors. 

They are giving us a hard time post Brexit - because our reason for the Channel tunnel was to enhance trade with Europe. Their reason was to have a fast escape route for their government if the Germans get grumpy again. Now they will have to quarantine before they flee and when they spew out of the tunnel at our end.

Don't find this funny at all and an insult to a lot of very brave resistance men and women.

Sorry about that Purwell - I accept that the resistance and general population were brave - but like like the Germans - were badly let down by their leaders.  It is the French governments that I take issue with.

I am one of the majority in the UK who are fed up with the way we are treated by the French authorities. Yet the French people - who we mix with on holidays there, or when we travel through France, are lovely. It is a fact that most Brits consider the punitive treatment we have subsequently received from Mr Macron and his ilk has been disgraceful.

Shame that this "majority" that you mention are not fed up with the way we are being treated by the posh boy government that short sighted jingoists insist on voting for.

don't think they are "not fed up" - I am on several other uk forums - gives me a lift sometimes -impression I get is that everyone has become "covid fatigued" and either cannot still speak or understand english or cannot give a shit anymore about anything and just go their own way - high injection rates and herd immunity seems the only way out for such a small piece of over-crowded real estate?

is escape to the country really true anymore??
