| Continuous summer weather over here, cracking 35 most days.
Since the start of our enforced sabattical Mrs Beastie and I have been enjoying the house and garden during the summer months for the first time in many years....All this came to an end last week when a friend of ours who is the director of a large hotel in Santa Susanna, a resort a few klms down the coast, asked her to help run the beach and pool bar/restaurant.
Very hot work but she is enjoying it....All staff wear masks whilst the guests frolic on the beach and in the pool without them, sit at terrace tables without them.
Yet out in the street here in Spain, nearly all people abide by the guidence/law and wear them.
We went out last night for the first time to really be social, whilst walking through the streets masks were a plenty, but sat eating and drinking, none were visible.
All staff wore them and sanitizer everywhere. All condiments came in individual packets and no bar service.
All very civilized but nothing to prevent the spread of any infection in my opinion.
As I said at the begining of this pandemic, the effects of the attempts to restrict the spread would cause more damage than the virus itself, not withstanding the dreadful amount of lives lost.
And its going to get worse before it gets any better........If at all! |
