well i get to say it first Ho ho ho merry xmas - 2am xmas morn here and having a wee dram before I think we'll have the kippers! - not sure if it will monsoon or besoon he said!I'm always glad when boxing day arrives - off to the MIL for lunch - she likes to be wined and dined.

ps: large moths bangin at the window and one just attacked me in the laundry room as I rescued the ice!

Good morning - There's just the two of us here at the moment. That will turn into 6 or more later on. Vegetables are being peeled and I'll soon be driving over to pick up our son.

Good morning - damp and cold again !
Up early as usual and cooked the turkey which has been languishing in the freezer for the last two years and defrosting in the garage for two days, I have just tasted it and it is succulent and delicious.
We will have a traditional dinner later today with crackers and chicken-liver pate with pear and blueberry chutney then prawns and Mary rose sauce followed by turkey, roasties, sprouts with chestnuts, buttered baton carrots and parsnips and lots of lovely gravy !
Xmas pudding and custard to round it off .... 

Just enjoying early port and chocolates to get us in the festive mood. 

what a pleasing day for us - usually 10-15 adults milling around the carport [remember the warm weather? - and half a dozen screaming kids - ice creams flying in all directions. All families called off this year and stuck to themselves and the wife and I and step son had a quite arvo with the ma a step pa exchanging gifts and ribaldry indoors in the aircon and having a good old chuckle whilst scratching lottery tickets!! 

wife gave me a lagavulin islay single malt scotch whiskey - still trying to adjust to it - not for the faint hearted - tastes of driftwood fires and dry peat smoke - 50 quid a bottle!! - wouldn't buy it regularly!

ham/vinegared muscles/ stinky-moldy cheese/ salad - fried rice - assorted sweets - too much - oh and boiled eggs [one of my favorites!] - no turkey or goose or any bird for that matter! [wouldn't have minded a bit of royal swan!!

I developed a very painful gum infection on Tuesday and it was at its worst most of day and evening yesterday, which put our eating plans out of joint somewhat !
So....we will try again today with a simplified version

   no antiseptic mouth washes Mal? - or even whiskey ones?

thunder storms hovering again which is good news for us out west - the eastern people are still in a fire inferno and the pollies arguing about 'paying' the volunteer fighters a fee - this won't be forgotten at the next ballot box!

Our guests spent the day in Barcelona and have just arrived back and we have an Indian meal prepared for them...Puppadums and the works.....Biriyani, Samosas etc.... Davo, glad that you are getting some rain.....Try spreading it about where it is needed.....It's still 22 degrees here everyday.
