They are hardier than most Alstroemerias, down to about minus five, which does not occur so often these days. They will stand a lower temperature in a sheltered border with a protective layer of compost during the winter. They are so colourful that it is well worth the slight risk, they will quite rapidly form a clump. They are available in pots now in any good nursery. |

| We saw a sample in the nursery las year,but were told that they would not be in stock until about now.

| Ah the lovely Peruvian Lily – did you get the 3 feet tall ones? It is beloved by butterflies for pollination but ignored by deer – that’s rather fortunate andsome! But do watch out for the slugs and beware of too much contact – can cause skin allergies!
Is that the flaming star andsome? You may also be tempted to buy Princess Mathilde; Intachanta Sunlight; Antartica; Fougere and Mars?? |
