| I find the incessant drum rolls and cymbal crashes behind news announcements really irritating. It is particularly annoying when I am trying to watch the news before work and it is loud enough to wake the neighbours. |

| Rather than start a new thread, I'll add another gripe to this one.
Radio traffic announcements are read far too fast. They should be read slowly and then repeated because you always find yourself saying what did he say? |

| Quite agree with you on both counts Purwell, I hadn't really noticed the loud 'countdown music' on the News Channel, I must have got used to it, but it is unnecessary, annoying and aggravating !
I have actually emailed Radio Merseyside in the past to complain about the traffic and travel bulletins read out too fast.....nothing changed !! |

| I mentioned it to "Sally Traffick" at Truckfest a couple of years ago and she told me they are only allowed a short window on Radio 2 and have to hurry to fit everything in. Waste of time if nobody can take it in though isn't it? |
