| I'm here.
Just been ordering a spare remote control for my new disc player.
My old BD/DVD player decided to give up on us a couple of days ago so I bought a replacement on Amazon.
I always like to have two remote controls on my entertainment equipment so I've spent a good part of the day trying to source one for my new toy. Not as easy as you would expect. Replacement remotes for just about every other bit of stuff on the planet is available but not this device. Even Sony (who made the player) don't stock them and they need ordering from the Far East at a cost of nearly £60 (with carriage included).
Now, isn't there something wrong with that? The complete new player was only £74.
Do I forgo my habit of having a spare?
Do I bite the bullet and buy a spare?
Buy a complete new player just for the remote?
Wish sincerely that I hadn't bought the machine in the first place? |

| Maybe they've all gone shopping or are planting in their gardens...
We're off to the garden-centre tomorrow. We'll have some flower planting to do in the freshly cleaned containers. Also, a couple of hanging baskets for the log cabin. I would like to fill one planter with a variety of herbs. :;smile: |

| Forums going quiet are a concern but I think the time of the year does make a difference. Many of us are out doing whatever needs doing in the garden or, in my case, just getting out in the improved weather and warmer temperatures. I don't think the quietness is because nobody loves the forum anymore. :) |

| Perhaps you are right Mart, trouble is with me that I have to keep looking in all day, every day to act as moderator/policeman/housekeeper etc etc. Maybe I shouldn't be so 'hands-on' and just let the place evolve on its own for a while. |

| I confess that I have flagged over the last few days - but not for lack of interest. It's just because I have other, hopefully, short term domestic issues.
My wife is ailing and in need of some TLC. I went to the joke shop to get properly dressed and cheer her up.
Hope your wife is feeling a little chirpier today Alan .... and that laughing doesn't hurt her too much. Very fetching ... very fetching indeed.
Confession time from Sags
Everyone get a big stick and feel free to smack the Mod.
I accidentally hit edit instead of quote .. and cos Malcolm said about quoting images I deleted the image when I replied.
I've ruined your post Alan. Sorry. My mistake. |
