| I sent Gandalph another PM a day or two ago, and have just received this reply. Great news. Here is his message.
Hello andsome,
Just got out of Hospital today, I ended up having to go in for a few day's with my chest for monitoring purposes. Hate the hot and sweaty damn places. So boring. They wouldn't even allow me a Laptop as it would give off radiation,Yea, like it runs on atomic isotopes. I should be back with you all in a day or two when I've seen to things at my end. I have a lot of work to do both in and out of the House. My Daughter-in-Law is proving to be less than useless when I need her most, but that's another story.
Cheers for now andsome, and thank you for caring.
Regards,
Colin.

| Just got my eye on this post.
Thank you one and all. The bit I'm not getting about the Hospital is them not allowing me a Laptop because of the radiation thing. They have Computers all over the place. Definitely not with that one at all. Never mind I'm out now with no intentions of going back for Monitoring or anything else if I can help it. |

| They were probably afraid that the ambient radiation would fry your laptop and that you would sue them for another one ! |

| That's probabley a bit nearer the truth Malcolm. I honestly think it was someone not knowing what they were talking about. |

| I recently spent some time in Intensive Care and after the first day (when you're supposed to have complete rest after a "cardiac event") I was able to use my laptop, Kindle Fire and mobile phone with no restriction at all.
I remember not so long ago there was talk of installing mobile phone detectors in hospitals to prevent their use/misuse on the premises. |

I don't understand that one pops. The Doctors were using their Mobiles to contact each other and the Nurses were texting each other. I was using my mobile as well for chatting to my Son and texting the neighbour to make sure she had fed the cat. Nothing said. Come to think of it what could they say, after all they were using theirs. |

| When my wife was in hospital with a shattered femur, she had a TV in her room , a laptop and free WiFi. Good to see you're out Gandalph, welcome back to the old codger brigade. :;smile: ----------------------------------------- Civilisation is a veneer, easily soluble in alcohol!

| Thank you for the welcome Ciderman. I was in a ward along with five other people so didn't complain. |
