nice one CM - I once took an old UK mate way up north of WA into the wilds and we stayed in a small town of 3000 - next day I took him to the petrol station breakfast bar - he walked in and in his best British accent said " Good morning everyone and how are we feeling today?" - I was creeping out via the back dunny!!

NB: no one said a word - I don't think they understood him!!

Am I correct in the assumption that it is related to Australia Day.

I am a mod on a Hyundai i30 motoring forum based in Australia and some of the Aussie members are spitting teeth over claims of racism related to the video.

yes many Indigenous called Australia day "Invasion day" and do not celebrate it in the same way as non-Indigenous people do. However you may not have noticed that in the ad is featured a famous ozzie personality Cathy Freeman a fast runner in the olympics and one of our notable cooks Po, who is from Malaysia I believe. In all honestly man y Indigenous people have a PH on Australia day and do their own thing but many will not raise a glass to it as Australia day

What is a "PH" on Australia day mean. I don't get the acronym

Basically, it started years ago as an annual comic advert to promote Australian lamb.
Paid for by meat-producers. 

It always came out just before the 'Australia Day' public holiday on which many Aussies have 'barbies' which usually featured bloody great steaks, sausages, prawns - and, just about anything except lamb. 
(But heaps of beer).

As someone else said, in recent times some of our indigenous folk have denigrated the whole thing, calling it "Invasion Day". 

In deference, I reckon the producers of this one have compromised pretty well.
The main actors right from the beginning are indigenous - and it then goes on to emphasize our fairly-successful multicultural history - without once mentioning the dreaded "Australia Day".

If one reads the comments after the clip (on Alan's link), there are a few 'whinging Poms' claiming that not enough emphasis was focused on our British heritage.

I have spent about the last 60 years of my life honing my whinging skills to the peak of perfection. I assumed it was an attribute that would guarantee a free pass into Australia.

Are you now insinuating that I have wasted my time?
