Treated individually and well I'd say but perhaps cases vary.

my friendly doc is Dr Vin as we call him [no not asian - short for vincent] he is 70 we spend 30 mins talkin about politics, the worlds ills etc etc and then 30 mins about me - I didn't like it much today when he stuck his finger up me bum but he was very professional about it and had a glove and lubricant!

he draws nice pics for me to show me what is wrong with me and gives me anything I ask for apart from cannabis which he is not allowed to yet!

to save him time I see a nice clinic nurse who takes me BP; temp; weight and any blood and urine if required - I asked her this morning 'are you taking the piss'?

DRE digital rectal examination. Prostate problems. There are specialist nurses now who run clinics to save the Consultant for the more serious side of things...in the UK

A friend of mine was one and depending if the patient was pleasant then she was very gentle . On the odd occasion she used too pop on her gloves slowly and say, are you feeling lucky liked Clint Eastwood films.
