| It has recently come into season! Hard Cod Roe. Great for a change whilst it lasts.
We bought some on Friday last week. I usually boil them all on the day of purchase, then freeze them in convenient portions for future use.
Anyone else use them? |

| We both love fish and eat a lot of it, but we are not keen on roe. |

| I'm very partial to cod roe boiled then sliced and fried.
I also like smoked cod roe. I've mentioned there is a smokery near here. They do it. They also do a really heavy smoked version which keeps without refrigeration for ages. You just slice very thinly, sprinkle with lemon juice & pepper and enjoy. |

| I can eat the hard roe when fried - but I don't really enjoy it. There is no way I could eat soft roe |

| I'm not too keen on soft cod roe - there is always a tough string in it but soft herring roe fried in butter and served on toast with lemon and paprika is one of my favourite dishes.
My father liked herring roe - until he found out what it was.
