| There are still some oddments of the chicken left so, it's sweet & sour chicken + one of the giant king prawns we were given at Christmas. Served with plain boiled rice. |

| Gressingham duck breasts with paprika roast spuds, mixed veg and raspberry/Cointreau sauce.
(Due to a recent newspaper article we now check whether the duck is from Thailand or UK - today's are not UK - they were in the freezer before we knew of the "scam") |

| We're going to try this today http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/hummus_chickpea_burgers_94137The recipe very much resembles the mixture I use for falafel with added hummus. Actually, I might leave that out as it's only mashed chickpeas and seasoning. There is tahini in it but that's not going to make much difference. |

| Good luck with the burgers. I'm doing cottage pie, with minced up left over roast beef and onion plus various spices, sprouts, carrots, swede and parsnip. |

| Yesterday's chickpea burgers were a bit disappointing in that the mix was a bit sloppy and refused to hold together. I added some chickpea flour (gram flour) to stiffen it up but it still didn't have enough "body" to hold together in a burger shape. I ended up dropping small balls of the mix into fat and frying - you know what, they tasted just like my usual falafel.
Fish today. Don't know what type yet, depends what we can get and what we fancy. |
