| What unusual/interesting/novel thing did Santa leave for you?
Mine was a 2.5kg box of Chinese restaurant type King Prawns - you know the things I mean - those halfway to being a lobster in size and (until now) impossible to obtain for cooking yourself. They are frozen but none the worse for that. |

| We had a voucher for a tour of a British vineyard, a wine tasting and a talk on wine growing and harvesting before lunch. Followed by a tour of a wine producing factory.
I will require a chauffer if I am to enjoy it - I never spit wine out..
On the topic of Christmas presents.....
Yesterday (Christmas eve) my wife was going through the house like the road runner - dusting and cleaning everything that didn't move in preparation for all the visitors on Christmas day. Suddenly I heard her wail and cuss - her floor steamer was not working. She bought it from Argos only 3 months ago so I volunteered to take it back for a replacement.
This was at 2.30 pm on Christmas eve. The traffic across town was horrendous and the retail park car park gangways were blocked with a procession of cars circling like hawks looking for a spot. So I went down the road and parked about 500 metres away in a residential road.
Argos was bulging with people getting last minute gifts and I queued for about 30 minutes at customer services to get sorted. Which was fine - they had one in stock and I left happy.
As I walked out of the shop with the steam cleaner under my arm a couple were walking towards me and we had to do a waltz in the crowd to get past. As he passed me he took a look at the box - grinned - raised his eyebrows - pursed his lips, sucked in air like a contractor looking at a job and said to me "If that's a Christmas present for your missus mate - you might be in a bit of doo doo".
I replied "She was delighted with the ironing board I gave her last year". His wife looked shocked.
The mirth lifted me from my frustrated mood. ----------------------------------------- This post may contain controversial personal opinion, humour, ironic comment or sarcasm. | He brought me nothing, and the same for Anne. It took a few years to get him into the idea but at last we managed it. |

| Well I had 2 vouchers for Debenhams and 1 for the market garden. A large ornament of a sweet elephant, chocolates, manicure and mirror set, and money from my husband as he is no good at shopping and he hates shopping. So I did well. Now for the shopping spree next week :;smile:
