| Sags mentioned in the photo section that she had done a family tree. Is anyone else involved in this compulsive disorder? (Like me!) ----------------------------------------- Civilisation is a veneer, easily soluble in alcohol!

| Genealogy ... I love it and I'm addicted to it. I got back to the late 1700's with my tree but with Mr Sags I've got to the 1500's .. by then it's a matter of getting hold of old wills. Trouble is they change to flaming Latin otherwise there are more wills I could buy which might get me to around 1420, (if I wanted to mortgage my house to do it). |

ciderman ... if your family originally come from England I have a subscription with ancestry for the parish records and censuses and can do any look-ups you might like. If you do send me a PM. |

| 'Er indoors had an uncle who was shot while attempting to escape from Dartmore many years ago. He evidently said that if he recovered he would dedicate the rest of his life to Jesus. True to his word he used to go down to what is known as the circle in Kingstanding in Birmingham, and preach. ----------------------------------------- Gustav Mahler is the finest composer who ever lived. |

| I have no need to do my family tree - two of my aunts who are now nearer to 100 than 90 years old have been doing our family tree for years.
They have devoted much time and money to the task and have compiled a tree going back to 1728 with thousands of entries. The whole family (present company excepted) were big breeders with large families and the tree spreads sideways a terrific amount.
I once printed it off onto A4 sheets. It is 15 sheets wide and 5 sheets deep - thus 75 pages.
The only wall I could hang it on is our garage side-wall. It got damaged and chucked away in our last house move. I can't be bothered to print it off again. ----------------------------------------- This post may contain controversial personal opinion, humour, ironic comment or sarcasm. | We have three scrolls, about the size of three rolls of wallpaper. When they are laid out Horizontally it shows our family tree going back to the Vikings. It is up to the senior Member of the Family to keep it up to date. Then hand it on to the next Senior and so on.
Hence my statement, No Comment. There are some right Characters on there. People who are tracable through the History books. |
