| Seen on a canal bank
There's no better place to look for these creatures. This one is a "pup. They grow to about 4 feet in "body" length as adults and are capable of gnawing holes in canal barge bases in as little as a fortnight. In some areas of the country they are eaten with glee. Although since the end of January 1986 glee has been classed as an unhealthy contaminent. |

| It is indeed a capybara. There were quite a few in the canal that our cruise ship moored in for the night in Strasbourg. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] They invaded the Norfolk broads for a time but the environment agency now claim to have eradicated them. ----------------------------------------- Gustav Mahler is the finest composer who ever lived. |

| It wasn't there when our cruise ship stopped in Strasbourg last year. There were rats though. ----------------------------------------- This post may contain controversial personal opinion, humour, ironic comment or sarcasm. | I speak a smidgen of German and can't make that out. I just talked to Heinrich Google and he does not understand you either. ----------------------------------------- This post may contain controversial personal opinion, humour, ironic comment or sarcasm.
