we have Gremlins in the house I think, first the fridge is playing up,then the cooker door came off on one side And today the vacumm cleaner stopped, and righ before Xmas

So at least that's all 3 things have popped up to do their worst... if things come in threes.
Annoying though isn't it. I hope your cooker door didn't come off when it was on and hot!
