A drier and brighter day for many today, with sunny spells and isolated showers developing through the day. Turning cloudy from the west, with a band of showery rain arriving into western fringes by the end of the day.

Rain will clear eastwards through the morning, leaving largely cloudy skies behind. Into the afternoon the cloud may start to break up, although we will also have scattered showers, which may be of sleet or snow over the higher ground.

It'll be a crisp, bright start today with plenty of sunshine lasting into the afternoon. Skies will turn hazy from the south through the day, with cloudy skies for most by the evening.

There will be some cloud around to start with, but through the day there will also be brighter spells developing, with clear blue skies by the afternoon across Cumbria. The blustery winds will take the edge off the temperatures though

| I've been setting up the business for the coming season and will start trading again on the first of May. Which means 13 hours a day for the next 6 months, bloody hell!

Much of the region will see a cloudy day with outbreaks of rain. That said, drier, brighter conditions with a few sharp showers may move into southern counties later. Generally, it will feel a good deal cooler than yesterday

| Not too bad here .. dry and dismal but then it brightened up and I had a little potter in my garden.
