Excel Macros Empty
PostSubject: Excel Macros   Excel Macros EmptyTue Aug 10, 2021 4:15 pm

I have a need to copy several lines of data from one sheet to another which I can do simply by using "copy and paste" no problem.
When I try to use a Macro to do the same operation Excel won't paste the data.
Anyone got any ideas?

I am hopeless with excel macros - copy and paste when formula are involved can be a nightmare.

I have a spreadsheet which records monthly gas and electricity meter reading and then calculates the actual consumption of each for each month.

In a workbook I have a sheet for each year with the year as the tab title  and another sheet tabbed Summary

Eg : 2019  2020  2021  Summary.

To copy the contents of sat cell B10 in tab 2021 to the summary sheet I enter this formula into the target cell in the summary sheet

=’2021’!B10

And so on.

It copies the formula from the cell of one sheet to the other.

Beyond that I'm afraid I can't help. You may find a good googling fruitful

It's a strange one because it appears to wipe the clip board if I use the macro but not if I do it manually.
I have tried Google without success but I have a couple of ideas for a way round the problem.

To explain the whole problem, what I'm doing is downloading a CSV file of the days race cards from a horse racing site, saving it as an Excel file, deleting the info that I don't need and then copy and pasting into another sheet that I use to analyse the form.

Changing the name of the downloaded file solved it but I have no idea why!
