| The tomatoes are tasty, a bit like the 'finest' range in the supermarkets. There are hundreds of them too. Keeps her (the owner) and me in tomatoes for a month or two.

| Looking good and quite an achievement Beast. I'm not sure how the professional growers get the uniform shapes to the vegetables we see in shops but the the peppers in the allotment greenhouse look something like those in your photo. They all taste good though. I have grown tomatoes in a polytunnel in our back garden but they seem reluctant to go red for some reason or other. There are some red ones now but the allotment tomatoes have been going red throughout the summer. |

| I never used to but helping out with the work on our friend's allotment has given me some interest in growing a couple of things.
I put up a polytunnel in the garden for growing strawberries and tomatoes. I'll be getting the tomato plants in pots ready to be put into growbags. I got the strawberry plants last year and they are growing well already. |

| I've got some carrot seeds planted and some lettuce... I'll be growing some tomatoes.in the conservatory alongside some lemon trees that provide me with a couple of fruit each year!. I also have an avocado plant growing from seed that has not fruited since planting 4 years ago. |

| you mention conservatory there - are those I came across in 2000 on my visit a sort of octagonal glassed addition to the end of the house? |
