I never did get the window fixed. It's not an M.O.T failure, so not that important. Makes life a bit difficult when it comes to car park barriers but that's pretty infrequent anyway.
I actually used the car this morning for the first time in weeks. Took it for a run to our son's place to deliver some tomato plants. It still goes OK.
M.O.T time for us is in August but I bet the car hasn't been driven much more than 100 miles since the last M.O.T ..maybe not even that. The bike, home grocery deliveries and walking means very little use of the car. Could almost make do without one.
I don't know why one country would require M.O.T test certificates and not another. They are necessary here if watching the Traffic Police programmes is anything to go by. Bald tyres seems to be the most common offence, followed by dark windows you can hardly see through and stylized unreadable number plates.
