when I was 16!

when a was 16 we had just moved from a rife-strewn city where the advent of teddyboys were beginning to roam the streets. Police had started patrolling on foot in pairs and sometimes with police dogs!

we moved to an idyllic cheshire village bit like 'the archers' and life became a breeze. Fresh air ; new girlfriends; new part-time jobs for pocketmoney and nothing for Ma and Pa to worry about save work themselves and keep the wolves from the door,. We had a huge back garden who know one wanted! and a front one that we all tried to keep pretty! Even the weather seemed to be better and we were still in UK! Yes the start of a good life or was it?

16!  Yes they were good times! I was at Takapuna Grammar School in Auckland having recently arrived from Colchester in the UK. I had pocket money jobs mowing lawns and when I had just got my license, a job delivering greengroceries after school. One of these was up a long drive to a rather palatial house. I got the box of stuff out of the van and as I walked up to the house the door opened and a completely naked woman, probably in her 30's, leaned seductively up against the door frame. So, of course, I said "Good evening" and put the box of green stuff on a table on the porch. Then with great aplomb I walked back to my van , got in and drove off.  What did I miss out on!!!!
