from ya roots to ya boots

Got to wondering how my early childhood upbringing has influenced how I think and behave now?

I was born ‘working class’ to parents who had no ‘qualifications’ apart from life ones. I was schooled working class but eventually clawed my way up to university life and became a white collar professional living a reasonable comfortable life probably materially better than my parents. But where am I now?

I  think I have always remained staunchly working class – yes there are some unions that get out of hand and need reigning in as well as ‘company owners and bosses’ who get out of  hand and need reigning in but it is still a truism that the smallest percentage of the world own the largest wealth or something like that. I always feel comfortable amongst the ‘working class’ as I mix with them each day and share humor and stories. Yes I believe ya roots are ya roots and make the strongest boots!

I had a very strict upbringing and not at all a happy one.
I was never allowed to do much or bring friends round to the house.
That I think had an affect on me being shy and not able to mix easily.
I tried to bring my daughters up better I hope...

well  that wasn't a good fishing expedition - the new members won't be impressed!
