I'm sad you have to do that Purwell at your age.

Although the Royal Family have a luxury lifestyle (a tough job but somebody's got to do it), I think they bring in more money into the country than they cost. They are the reason for the 'changing of the guard' and so many other colourful ceremonies that bring the tourists in. However, I sometimes wonder whether it's the Royals themselves who bring in the tourists ..or is it just the historic buildings. Would Britain still have the same attraction without our 'overworked' Royals?

France seems to manage without any Royalty.

Hmm ..well, there is worldwide interest in our Royal Family. I'm not sure our tourist industry would do quite as well without them.
