| I am finally sick and tired of Virgin Media. On 22 July I agreed a new twelve month contract with them. Today I received an e mail informing me of a £3.49 per month increase. After much discussion on the phone they have offered to waive it for 6 months. This is not acceptable. Anyone have any suggestions for an alternative supplier that I can talk to please? |

| You could try Plusnet. We switched to them just after we moved to our current abode and they made BT look very second rate. Better service at a lower price and less "drop outs". |

| I have found Virgin Media's service to be good. I've had some problems with the service in the past but none in recent years. No other service can touch them as regards broadband speed. This does come at a price that has become too high though and the latest increase has made me think that I'll talk with them about the matter.
I don't think going elsewhere will give a better service but I might be prepared to forgo the 200Mbps Internet connection and a load of television programmes in order to get back to a more affordable monthly payment. Most of us don't need a 200Mbps broadband speed anyway. Streaming video can be done on a lot less than that.
Since I find VM's service to be technically OK, I don't want the bother of shopping around if it can be avoided. I hope I'll be able to come to a monthly arrangement that I can accept. Just have to see. |

Just have to see. I have just spoken to them again. They have agreed to give me a further one off credit of £20.94,having agreed yesterday to waive the extra £3'49 per month for 6 months, this means in effect I will not pay the increase for twelve months, It's well worth having a real go at them and threatening to leave. I have already gone down to 100Mbps. I will now be paying £33.94 per month for twelve months. I get 100Mbps broadband, TV one down from the top package, all telephone calls 24/7, caller recognition, and a Tivo box. |

So I ditched them years ago. |

| I forgot to take into account the deducted price increase above, my actual charge is £30 per month for twelve months. |

| We only have internet and free view to be honest. Before we emigrated we did have the tv package but there are far too many channels in my view.
I feel I do not want to pay for what I do not watch. :;smile: |

| We are the same Goldie, just phone and broadband we are with Talk Talk and pay 27.95 per month inc. Broadband is around 10mbps and we get all phone calls free 24/7, plus a Now TV box that we don't even have connected. |

| Been with Virgin many years and had no problems but got a bit cheeky lately--the mrs rang them up and asked for a better deal which we got --you have to tell them what you want or threaten to try elsewhere they don't like losing customers. |
