The hills have been alive with rubbish, but the valleys have fared less well.

catgate : Despite the weather we all had a splendid time. Fantastic house, a daily G&T, good food, nice wine and a good chat to solve all the Wold's problems. Spoiled only by a dent appearing in the rear hatch of my new after parking it in a busy car park in Keswick. It has been hit at a height of 1 metre with some force by a relatively sharp object - so I can't imagine what did it.

It is repairable - I made arrangements today with a local body shop that was recommended by a friend. The guy said they will need to remove the door lining to peen most of the dent out - but they will need to use filler where it is creased and respray the whole door.. They are busy and cannot do it until July 3rd. £200 plus VAT - hence cheaper than an insurance claim with an excess of £500.

I am not a happy bunny.Cartoon - 17.06.2017 Angry_11Cartoon - 17.06.2017 Angry_12

Alan :  It's nice to hear you can solve the Wold's problems. Does this mean that my next years Council Tax will be less???
Keswick must be full of vandals and trouble makers.. Anne had gone up there with one of her lady friends when we had the farmhouse at Kelbrook. She parked on the side of a road that had a "Parking" sign almost hidden by ivy.
When they came back to the car she had a parking ticket on the windscreen.
She photographed it and after a short exchanging of letters between us and the Keswick council she begrudgingly received a "full" refund.

I once had a funny parking claim. I got a parking payment demand for parking at somewhere in Scarborough for a long period. They included in the claim. not only the reg. number of the car but the colour (red) and the make (BMW). The reality was that that particular day I was down in Bridgewater at the factory of a company who did a lot of sewing work for us, and I had not walked there.
The claimants would not explain how they managed to get the number and description of my car.

I am afraid you are seeing something that does not exist, Goldie.

If I wanted to pass a secret message to him I would ring him up.
