| Great picture Mart ! Whenever I try to take a pic of the moon it comes out like a dot in the sky !! |

| The photos were taken with a high optical zoom setting. The night time one was taken on one of those nights when the Moon was said to be at its closest. Some cropping of the surrounding sky done too.
Edit: The camera was on a tripod too. |

| Yes, go on and treat yourself Malcolm. :) Spring and summer are about here and there are nearly always good things to photograph. Some of the compact cameras are pretty capable these days. Reasonable prices and most come with fairly high zoom levels and image stabilisation. |

My present camera is a Panasonic DMC TZ70. It has a 30 times optical zoom and a sixty times digital zoom. In the past, digital zoom was crap, but this one is still very decent even at that range. I have three digital cameras three 35mm TTL's one Polaroid and three camera phones !! All of 'em useless ! |

| Lovely pics, Mart. I have only got a point and click camera and once tried to take a photo of the moon and all I got was the top of my shed. |
