It's all irrelevant in this day and age. The total number of people still being ruled by religion of one sort or another in this country is now at an all time low. Personally,I don't give a damn as to other people's sexual preferences.

it's not irrelevant to all to those with other sexual preferences - what they are clearly saying and in fact demanding is that they be treated like all other citizens and be able to be married within the church of England. As the Queen is the head of the Church of England I am surprised she has not been consulted on such a matter and has not expressed an opinion - they all [the family] seem to be willing to express opinions on all other topics in the Kingdom

'ER indoors at Buck House doesn't traditionally ever express an opinion on contentious matters. I still think that the church is irrelevant to the majority of people. We had a church wedding simply because it was considered to be the norm in those days. There is nothing magical about it, there are other ways of getting married.

as dear old queenie is the head of the Cof E then she obviously agrees with the decision of HER church and has therefore sent a clear message out to the LGBT community that she does not support their wish to get married in HER church - about time she moved on!

You have the wrong idea of the Queens role in the UK and commonwealth. She makes NO decisions as such, she merely signs so called approval, it is merely a traditional and purely notional role as head of state. She is NOT the head of state in reality, or head of the church, merely a figurehead, and personally I think the concept is outdated, as is the House of Lords.
