PostSubject: Stop Watching   Sat Oct 11, 2014 9:14 am

I have clicked DO NOT  notify me of any replies, yet if I forget to click the lettering under a topic i get E mails saying that someone has replied to a topic I had posted in? anyway of stopping this without having to click underneath a post? all the time.
I would have thought ticking the box in the profile would have done the deed? but obviously not.

I was getting loads of unwanted e-mails until I nipped into Notifications in my user panel.

There are two columns ... By email .... In the Toolbar .. the latter which I take to be the Notifications tab on the top right of the index page.

I thought I had, but actually i had already gone back into my profile before reading your posts and unclicked everything basically and YES since then I have not received any E mails,

This is the second or third time that i have made a post or replied and later could not find it? maybe old age is catching up on me.?

In all fairness when we first arrived here I was getting inundated with e-mails because until I went into my profile and altered the Notifications settings I seemed to be automatically receiving them for every thread I posted on ... whether I'd picked to receive them or not.

Have you got sorted meerkat?

If not .. go into to your Profile and look under Notifications.
There are two rows of settings ... notification by e-mail .. and notification by the Toolbar, which is the little gizmo up at the top right of the page. It might just show as a little black and grey drop down arrow when it's closed. Myself, I find the forum based alert quite handy.
Select your options in there for various things like topic and PM notifications. It should stop any unwanted stuff.

If it doesn't you have permission to shout at Malcolm ... who will grumble back. yes
