| I have always known a variation on that one.
The boy stood in the burning dock Picking his nose like fury Rolling it into little balls And flicking them at the jury. |

don't you mean the "boy stood ON the burning deck? sorry to get picky but you were talking about picking something? A courtroom dock, hence the reference to a jury. ----------------------------------------- Gustav Mahler is the finest composer who ever lived. |

| I presume he was there for assault
The cabin boys name was zipper He was a naught nipper He filled his arse With broken glass And circumcised the skipper.

| The Boy stood in the witness box with a pocket full of crackers, One slipped down his trouser leg and paralysed his kneecap. |

| I do believe that our host MM has quite an ability for the prose! His 'Lancastrian' musings are something to behold and read...can we see some more MM? |

| You are very kind Beastie, my scrawlings are OK but you have the real talent with the quality of your artistic work. You could always post a few to delight our new friends. |

| modest malc some call him but he has a bite to his tale!
here's one to get the tongues wagging:
Used to be Great for a While!
It started off a dim and dismal island shrouded in the mists of heathen times ransacked by the celts and then the Romans but for greatness it was only biding time Weathered all the storms and the invasions and finally forged a nation out of steel ruled the seven seas and many nations Became a ruling empire for a while It ruled them all with strictest perserverance Of the British rule of God and King It plundered all their goods and their servants made them slaves in shackles they would bring For a while it held it all together but like all the empires gone before it lost the plot and just forget what made the greatness more It shrunk to just one island of many different creeds it welcomed all with open arms and welfare let them breed for a while it stayed united but even that fell off Wales, Scotland and then Ireland choice their own Celt plots So now it stands all naked not knowing who it is it bows to other nations that form the European grid It used to be called Great Britain the British Empire too United Kingdom for a while and now just England will do Like all the great past empires it's had it's glory days been puffed with pride sacked far and wide and now is past the haze But still it exalts tradition and remembers glories gone maybe it wants the past to last and recall battles in the sun but life is constant in one thing it always has to change the past won't last; just let it pass embrace the future games |

| Boxing day again? St Stephens day is here again, Christmas a thing of the past, Presents and gifts forgotten and left, their memories seldom last, Uncles and Aunties, Mums and Dads, sons and sisters all, Parties over, festive fun and the Christmas ball. Sated, full, stories to tell… of the fun they’ve had, Of toys and games and friends they’ve made, a Christmas not half bad, Back to homes, warm and dry, with tables full and wide, With family’s bosum open and safe , no need to run and hide. But out in the world so big and bad, another story can be told, Of the poor and the weak, the sad and the meek, of many not so bold, A thought for them as we close our doors, on the cold and the dark and the wet, Of dreams and prayers and wants and hopes, most of which will not be met. The lost and the sad the lives they’ve had, many never will be found, The beaten and the missing, the ones we know, who will never make a sound, The tall and the brave, the ones who’ve made, their lives so hard live, Lets remember all that they do, what they say and what they give. So as we lay us down to rest, after long festive party cheer, Pray for ones unfortunate enough, to have naught but hate and fear, That their souls will be caught and held with care and cradled much with love, And the world be given what it really needs by that white and peaceful dove!
