Well back home after a really successful and enjoyable weekend.People already booking in for next year.On a personal note 1 horse let me down for over 2 grand for a smallish outlay.I personally won about £400 so effectively had a free weekend,i invited suggestions for charity nominations and am currently reviewing who we can donate to,

Excellent ! I'm glad you had a great time....did you manage to collect a great deal for your charities then apart from the £400 which you must surely be putting into the pot ?

The only time I ever bet on a horse race was in 1956 The Grand National, I was eleven. I bet on the winner E S B and won 12/6d and was delighted !

My grandfather was a very successful bookie both legal on course and illegal off course he made a fortune which my father ,his son and heir spent, leaving nothing for me!dad let me have 2/6 ew on a horse called steel bridge in the grand national circa 1965/66 I watched it go to the front then willed it to fail,it did finishing second ,grandfather was bemused ?I told him I'd done it eachway and if it finished 2nd 3rd or 4th I won !he then explained if it had finished first I would have won a bit more ,it was 66/1 my return would have been about £8 10 shillings more than it was or roughly at that time a week and a halfs wages.Final sums tell me I'm about a monkey clear from the weekend lol
