| THE PERSEID METEOR SHOWER HAS BEGUN: Earth is entering a stream of debris from giant comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle, source of the annual Perseid meteor shower. Although it doesn't peak until mid-next week, the shower is already active. Last night alone, NASA cameras detected more than a dozen fireballs over the USA. |

| I always have a look around the sky last thing at night just before making sure we're all locked up. I'll look out for flying things then. |

| I had a look around last night but it was partially cloudy. Fully cloudy at present but as usual, I'll scour the skies later. I might get lucky and some long-legged female aliens will want to beam me up and examine me.  |
